i know that it is important to eliminate scent. but what if you throw in a chew, or a nice big wad of copenhagen. would the deer be able to smell that or is it so insignificant that it would not matter?

IMHO I think it is impossible to eliminate all scent. As to the chew if you can smell it, I think it is reasonable to thik that deer would be able to smell it also. Not sure if all deer would find it offensive or would possibly relate it to humans.

I personaly think the whole scent thing with deer is over rated. i don't think they care even half as much as we do about scent. i don't go overboard with scent control and I don't even remember the last time a deer blew at me while on stand. All i do is climb at least 30' and I leave my clothes out all season and wear rubber boots. Sometimes I will rub some pine needles on me or scratch up the bark in the tree i am in for cover scent. Thats it. All the crap you hear about suits and such and miracles in a bottle for $5 is just that.....crap. IMO And before some jump all over me here, yes, I have killed piles of big bucks.
