Just how big are the rabbits you guys hunt? Here, they're considered small game. [&:]
The best I've had is elk, but that meat is hard to come by in MD. I'd have to say that venison is the only big game meat that stocks my freezer, so I guess it wins by default.

1) Elk
2) Bison - tastes like you wish beef did
3) Antelope - antelope burger is the best burger meat of all
4) Whitetail
5) Cougar - no joke! a light meat that tastes like fat-free pork
6) Bighorn
ALL THE ABOVE ARE PREMIUM CHOW
7) Muley - has more of a tendency to gaminess than whitetail
8) Moose - maybe I've had a bad run, but I've sampled 3 or 4 different animals and they all tasted like willows, just nasty
9) Bear - just can't do it any more, worked in a taxidermy shop for a while and saw some nasty carcasses

All the moose I eat is the toughest meat I have ever ate. I killed in Northern Newfoundland. All they eat is black spruce. Gives it a wild taste. Last one was a 3year old cow. Had to crockpot ever last bit of it.
I see alot of folks like Moose. Do ya think the northern Newfie moose is any different than the moose you guys are referring too?
My favorite is caribou. Even with the liver smell. Second is whitetail but only those soybean fed ones.
