Scent wafers for clothes storage
#13
I've been using the fresh earth scent wafers by HS Scents for years. I always use scent free laundry detergent on all my hunting clothes and then I store them in a plastic tote year round with 1 scent wafer. I've had deer all around me numerous times. I believe they work and I'll continue to use them. I had 3 bow kills this season and all were within 10 yards. Ya just can't argue with success.

Not to disrupt the market for these scent wafers, but I've had more luck taking my clothing, washing it in scent free detergent, then putting it in a large sealable plastic storage box (about 3X2X3 I think) and taking leaves, branches, and berrys from the area that I hunt and place them in among the clothing. Since I've done that I have never had a deer wind me, and have actually had them come directily under my stand and mill around!

After washing in Scent Free,I soak then in cold water with BI-CARBONATE OF SODA {STRONG ARM},
for 4 or 5 hrs. Take them out and let them DRIP dry. When dried, roll them in Pine needles or better yet-
pieces of LIGHTER PINE,place them in a storage bag. Some hunters down here, give them a light spray
of SIBERIAN PINE OIL. Don't wear them untill you are ready to go in the field!
Wearing your boots when you leave the house is not a good idea either! Sometimes you go into Kwik-Marts
for coffee or use thier REST ROOMS,most of them have alot of Human scent on the FLOORS!
If you are going to hunt a BURNT area, sit around the CAMP fire and smoke them good before you
go in the woods and they will smell like burnt pine!

I prefer that my hunting clothes are as odorless as possible. I wash them up at the end of the season, in scent free laundry soap, dry them then store them away in those vacuum seal bags and put them all in a plastic tote.
