Will White Oak acorns keep fresh if u harvest them???? I had some of the mexicans that worked on my farmgo out to 4 low hanging white oak trees to pcik some acorns and they came back with over 20 6 gallon buckets full of white oak acorns and i was wondering will they keep if i keep them out of the weather or do i need to freeze them????

Drew; the white acorns will go bad (mouldy) if you keep them bunched in the pails at room temperatures. I've been told to plant them asap if you want trees. If you want to keep them as bait I'd try a refridgerator set low. Freezing them will probably make them mushy when you defrost them.
