I had a Simmons Whitetail a few years ago. Paid about $90 for it and sold it for $25 and felt sorry for the guy that bought it.

I have a Simmons Aetec on my Encore and like others have said, it sure seems like a great scope for the money. Very clear and it pulls in A LOT of light during early morning and late evening. I really like my VX-II Leupold on my deer rifle too, but I'm not positive that the extra money was worth it when I compare it to my Aetec.

For the money it's a good deal. They're aren't the "high quality" scopes like many other types, but you also save a lot of money. I've been using the 44 mag scopes on the brother's Weatherby 30.06 for a few years now, and it's done a fine job.
