First Day. No Luck
This was the first day for my wife to hunt deer. Season in ND started yesterday. She has a doe tag this year. That said, many of you know what she had a chance to shoot. Yep a nice Whitetail buck broadside at 200 yards. Half hour later another nice whitetail Buck stood there and watched her for a full minute. 50 yards away. Saw six doe at 300 yards running full out. Can deer read tags? I think so. I hunt SD starting next week. Thats a mule deer deal down there. Hope someone did better today than we did. Well theres tomorrow.

Second day pretty tough also. The biggest problem is that most of the Deer hunting here is prairie. Shelter belts and slews hold most of the deer as a rule. This year however due to cool weather there is thousands of acres of unharvested corn and sun flowers. When the shooting starts the deer evaporate into those big corn fields and there is no way to kick them out and no chance to see them. Its illegal to hunt in unharvested fields. Even if it wos legal the corn is eight to ten feet tall so good luck. We hit one today but it got into a sunflower field and though we looked for three hours there was no sign of it. No snow so tracking or blood is tough as well. Quess thats why its called hunting and not killing. Good Luck.
