johnl,

I shot a doe last year at 180 yards off hand with that gun, I ranged her before I shot with my yardage pro. I never imagined I would get that kind of range when I purchased the gun. I have the rifled barrel with the cantilever scope mount. Those winchester slugs produce 1900fps muzzle velocity the average slug produces around 1500fps. Now let me throw in a little disclaimer here, the gun doesnt shoot flat for 200 yards. I'm about 2.5" high at 50, 1.5" high at 100 and 3.5" low at 200. You have to know the range on your shoot and practice a lot to know exactly where your point of impact will be different ranges.

You need to buy different sabot slugs, try them all. What I find to work best no matter what shotgun I use are the LIGHTFIELDS EXP 2-3/4" they group excellent, with my Remington 11-87, Mossbergs, amd Ithacas. Last year I took a black bear here in NJ with the Remington 11-87 and the LIGHTFIELD slugs, 1 shot at 50yds.

Does anyone have any idea where I can find ballastics and trajectory charts for those Winchester Partion Gold slugs? These are the ones that have the Hornady slug in them, right? Their site lists them at 2000 fps but that is the extent of their provided info. I would like to give these a try. I'm shooting this Thur (10-06) and this Sat (10-08) or Sun (10-09) and am very intrested in how they will perform out of my H&R Ultra Slug Deluxe.

It's not that I'm uphappy at all with the performance of my Brenneke's loads but these Partion Gold's are starting to intrigue me here. I am at a crossroads as to whether to start clicking on my scope since it's already dialed in for my loads.

I do quite a bit of stand and blind sitting over larger fields and well if I can reliably get a bit (or alot) further out there........well.
