Default Promising sign (deer tracks!)

Hey there.... Check out this photo that I took over the past weekend, when I was out scouting around. This is an old logging road with woods on one side and huge briars and thickets on the other.

I'm now looking for the perfect tree for my stand! [8D]

I love to hunt transition zones. From what you describe it sounds like a great set up.

Thanks... It gets even better. {I don't want to post too much info on my "special spot", if you know what I mean....} Check out this next photo. This is taken at the top of the trail/old logging road where it ends and comes to a fork. One trail leads to a bedding area, the other leads to a clearcut field.

Right at the corner of the fork is a tree with last years rubs all over it and a chewed branch above it. I don't how well you can see it in this photo, but this is an even better sign and better location for a tree stand.

I'm getting excited the more and more I look at these photos!! Er, um, then again.... there are a few other photos that I absolutely WILL NOT post as it might give out too much info about my spot!

A little parinoid? Thats what huting public land will do to you I don't blame you for keeping it hush, hush. If I found a honey hole on public land my lips would be sealed. There are something that just aren't worth sharing.

Nothing like the anticipation of the upcomming season! Looks like you've found a good place to set up.

It appears from the second photo, that that tree is either a scrape area or it would be an excellent area to develop and tend a scrape. That chewed branch above, is the kicker!
