What happened???

I would only take the shot if that deer was a big antlered buck that i had been working my ass off for, and i had a 12 gauge shotgun slug or high powered rifle that packs a punch.

Yep stump, exactly what happened. say what you want...we obviously agree to disagree on this one. thats ok. call me unethical. whatever. im not gonna argue this topic anymore.
BTW, on those two bucks stump, they actually stopped and both faced me, and i pulled the shot left hitting a tree instead of the center of the chest. then as they ran parallel to me i missed. oh, and whoever was critizing my long distance running shot: i thought by the deer's reaction that i had hit him when i shot at him the first time. I didnt want him to get away wounded and cross the road about 400 yards away, so i led him by quite a bit and aimed up a few inches and squeezed off a round. offhand too. damn good shot i think. i made the same shot from the same exact shot on a fox a few years ago. he was a little farther out there. i'm quite confident in my shooting ability.

I've shot 2 deer in the hindquarters, neither of them on purpose.
With your mention of school, I assume that you're still in your teens, so I'm willing to write this whole thread off to your lack of life experiences and respect for the animals you hunt. The best thing that can come out of this is that you learn something from it.
