sounds like this is a residential area? (that is how you make it sound?). If it is, that is one thing. if not, then people have every right to hunt nearby, close, 100 yards away - if on their own the property and know their surroundings and what is beyoud their shot. yes it is difficult sometimes to feel safe in close quarters (try hunting on some state land in NY!!). bottomline - you need to be aware of who is hunting near you and even try and coordinate hunting with neighbors. not trying to start anything, just opening up some conversation

Yes. A fairly rural residential area in a thick stand of woods. Many of our new neighbors will be seasonal cabin owners and not around during the gun season. The area my neighbor and I will hunt will be a thousand plus feet from nearby homes.
I agree. It is key to be safe and courteous, which is why I have decided to bowhunt while my neighbor gun hunts. He's been there forever and enjoyed his hunting. I know I can technically hunt on my own land whenever I want, but I'd rather not be 100 feet away from one another with gunswhile we're competing for deer. Finally, I've always wanted to try bowhunting and have been out in the yard practicing with this good weather. I keep getting better and hope to be good enough by fall. I think I'll think I'll enjoy the 3 month season instead of four days.
