I"ve never hade a problem with a leupold got talked into buying a burris fulfield II last year. It seemed great clarity was good, I liked the eye relief and it was accurate but using it hunting when it got cold it was bad to fog on the inside many times I could not see through it at all. I don't know if it was just one defective scope and I have sent it back and they are going to replace it, but I don't think I would buy another one

I have a Burris 3-9X40 on my Muzzleloader and it works great, but there is no way I would trade it for my Leupold Tactical Model Scope on my rifle. It will catch the flicker of a deer's ear at 750 yards and make it crisp enough for me to see.

I don't know if anyone mentioned them, but Bache $ Laumb (sp) makes some nice scopes. I have one, not sure which, and it is the clearest I have ever looked through. Although I haven't looked through many...

If I'm not mistaken......the old Bausch & Lomb line....are now the Bushnell Elite series. I think it was either a merger or a buy out!

Thanks for all the input. I am leaning towards teh VX-II right now. I found it in silver finish for $230. The monarch I found for $260 in silver. Still have a few weeks before I buy though.
