I have an 20 ga. 870 mag with a rifled barrel for deer. I don't think I'll ever use a different gun for deer hunting. I can shoot great groups out to 100 yards with sabots. I bought a Benelli Nova 12 a couple weeks ago but it is on specialy order. I plan on using it for turkey hunting. I like the gun becuase it can shoot up to 3 1/2 in. shells to take out that gobbler. I also ordred it in camo becuase those darn birds can see so well.

870 Express Combo. Mine has a 28" barrel and came with a modifed choke, but you can pick up chokes for whatever you need them for. It also came with a 20" smooth bore for rifled slugs. Deadly accurate at 50 yards, never bothered sighting it in any further, because I don't expect to get many shots further than that. I got this combo over 20 years ago, and it is still going strong. Last year my buddy got the same gun, except he got a rifled barrel instead. It shoots 3" or 2-3/4" shells. I have no need for 3.5" shells, just think the extra charge will contribute to a more purple shoulder when patterning turkey loads...

I've got a Mossberg 500 and it works good enough for me.
IT's not a specialty deer gun (20" wide open bore), but it'll keep 3" at 50 yds with just a red dot and no magnification and 2 3/4" 1oz Rem Sluggers.

If I was to buy another shotgun intended for deer hunting, it would still be a pump, but it would have a rifled, cantelivered barrel. No question about it.
In the mean time, the gun I've got can cover any shot I'll make in the dense cover I have to hunt.

another vote for remington 870 magnum. great guns, great value

I also have a 2 Mossberg 500's i like them but i have had problems with both of then 1st the 20 ga i have shells got jamed in the action and no matter how hard you pumped it, it was very hard to pump and 12 ga i have the rifled sights on it are the worst ever but other than that i like them

I just paid off my layaway on a new Benelli Camo shotgun. I am going to pick it up Monday. The 870 as many have said is a great shotgun. I have had several over the years. This is my second Benelli.

Can't go wrong with the 870 rem.Buy it as a turkey-deer combo or buy the barrels seperately,either way your getting a good gun

835 Ulti-mag gets my vote. Get the cantiliver rifled slug barrel and you are set[8D]

Either of these guns will knock your socks off! I prefer my Mossberg works for me.
