beautiful Texas Black deer!!!
Speechless after seeing this deer...It is called a melanestic color phase and is more rare than albino. Being it is completely black except for under tail it is considered the rarest of the rare. Most have some brown in them.

There was a deer taken like that last season here in PA. The black coloration comes from a genetic mutation, very rare. I think its called melanstatic or something like that.

Whoa, that is soo cool! I've seen pics of melanistic deer before, but none were that clear and crisp! Nice photo, and a truly magnificent animal! Congrats to the lucky hunter![8D]
