Will a mature 9 pt. always be a 9 pt.??

I took a nice 9 point this season that was at least 6.5 years old. According to the outfitter the deer had been a 10 point last season.

Skeeter. He said that deer probably hit his potential rack at around age 4. He said the rack I took probably was due to some sort of lack of minerals and diet and that was the reason he went down hill that year. Not because of age.
