    Has anyone shot a deer with a 45 Colt rifle? What bullet did you use and how well did it work?

    <font color=maroon>I have shot a replica Henry rifle in .44-40 which is a short cartridge also. I killed a hog and a couple of javelinas with from about 50 yards. That was the first time I had shot anything with open sights. There was no kick whatsoever. Who manufactures that rifle? I would imagine that it would take a deer with a well-placed shot.
