Public, b.l.m and block mgmt. areas. Days of paying to hunt,(other than license), are history. Hunt Montana and after many years of B.S. & T. don't need to pay any extra for hunting P.P.

I hunt both public and private being I have public land on side of me and a large timber company tract on the other side which has limited access .

If you want a good elk hunt try western PA they are really makin a comeback with there elk and had a good season this past year.
