Leased land. The National Forest land gets too much pressure from hunters and vehicles. Seems like everyone comes out to burn gas instead of hunt!!!!!

It really varies from state to state, region to region. I know there is some land in East Texas for public hunting, but around here, I don't know of any, but there are deer everywhere, so not too tough. My company leases 6500 acres 10 miles north of Hondo, TX. Yeah it's alot, but that's for a solid 15-20 guns every weekend + guests (business contacts, cousin's boyfriends etc.) It's a business lease, but it's a family business. My uncle owns 500 acres high fenced 20 miles south of there, but I'll never get to go hunting there. HE won't even shoot his pet deer, but one of my cousin's boyfriends got a monster from there this year in the part he didn't high fence. He actually fenced out bigger deer than in. We also have 837 acres just west of San Antonio. It is the rockiest, nastiest, roughest patch of cedar and scrub oak I have ever seen, and I love it. No one hunts there real serious because you need 4WD to get around, those are our deer top grow up for the future, and besides, the previous owners nearly exterminated them all. We have had it 11 years and My dad took the first this year. I have cleaned out 3 hogs, but there are still so mnmay that they run the deer off from the feeders. Better cooking out at Hondo anyhow. But I got 2 great bucks on video 2 years ago when my wife was super pregnant and I needed to be close. ( I used to live 18 miles from that place) But I have been going out there more and more thae past few weeks. Almost got a hog with my bow last weekend. . . until the cell phone rang. (Dad was hunting in another blind and is still recovering from an ATV accident in March. . think Ozzy) So I was on call. See, there I am babbling again. . . .

I have small areas of private land in differant counties of central Alabama. I've had little success on all areas. All of it is family owned.

Mostly always private land. The public land here in Nebraska can get really dangerous. People don't care about safety of the shot, only that they kill any deer they see. It's pretty sad actually.
