Rem mod 700 7mm mag
three deer so far. shots ranged from 125 down to 50 yards. Two standing still one runing. Ammo used was the Fed premium 160 nosler partions. All exit holes were the size of a quarter. First deer 125 yards shot went through the lungs out the front shoulder. Droped in it's tracks. 2nd deer shot in the neck at 50 yards did a flip flop and fell over dead. It did kick a couple of times. Last deer shot running at 60 yards. Bullet enterd behind the ribs and exited the neck. Deer ran 30 yards and fell dead. I have used the combo for many years now and except for a live shot no deer has went more than 30 yards, with most dropping on the spot. Meat damage is minimal for the power level of the gun, and accuracy is excellent.

Any deer i've harvestedwith the 870 pump gun has dropped immediately or within 10 yards....gotta love it!!!!!!!!!!! Brampton Mike [8D]

[quote]ORIGINAL: Krotalus

[quote]What caliber did you use? 7MM REM. MAG.

What bullet did you use? Remington Premeir Safari Grade, Swift A Frame dual core

How far did the deer run after it was shot? 0 +/- 1"

Roughly how big was the exit hole (if any)? Roughly the size of a quarter

The reason for using the Safari Grade shells is simply because they come in a nickel plated case. The nickle plated shell casings prevent any corrosion and ensure smoothe ejections. Since I rarly shoot more then 5 shells a year I find this to be a benifit.
