Sorry for putting a slight slam in my response. Your last post makes me better understand your situation. It makes me want to post a new question.

I thought I would give a reason in my last post, since 9 out of 10 people on here would be hunting a baited area if they where baiting.
Yeah this is diffrent.....

It will take them some time to start frequenting the food source. I got on a new lease this year and there was very little deer traffic around my feeders for the first month or so, but I have now been feeding for about ten months and there is a lot of deer sign in my area.

iF its an automatic feeder or a gravity feeder the deer sometimes take a few weeks to get to it. I always start a location by spreading the feed on the ground
and placing a small trail of feed as close to the travel route of the deer as I can get. After the deer start getting into the feed I will add the automatic feeder.
I have had much better luck just spreading the feed around the area without feeders. I wouldnt bother with the deer scents. Deer can smell corn from a good distance. When the acorns slow down the deer should come in more.

i wondered how long it would take before someone tried to slam you for baiting. i always ask myself why someone who disagrees with baiting would beat a dead horse and try to tell you it' s wrong. if you don' t like it, don' t click on the topic.
(and no, i do not bait)

YA know I am starting to think about this baiting thing. First I stalk, no baitning here. I have always thought baitng was cheating not real sportsman like, but today I think maybe for some people they should be able to bait. Now if your a WMA NO! Some of these guys are hunting elbow to elbow dang near, these areas are very crowded and the chance of getting a deer there is rough. Also the areas that are crowded I dont think really require scouting, just enough to know that there is a deer that passes through. Because it seems like a deer strolls through then bang! deer runs then Bang again until some ole boy finally killed it,it might have 4 diffrent bullets in it but I guess it depends on who' s foot it laid down on.
I like to stalk because I cant set still for hours, but then again it pisses off plenty of you treestand boys if I come strolling through
, treestand guy will get pissed then pack up and leave. Troy
