I am using .308/With Handloads.

1) Marlin Model 336 .35 Rem.

2) Remington Model 870 Wingmaster 16ga. with 2 3/4" Slugs

I' m torn between the .243 that has worked the last three years, and my .300 WM that I just worked up a handload for.
Most likely I' ll use the .243

im using a .30-06 that my uncle gave me last year. im kind of on the small side, so i only us 150 grain bullets (but still plenty of knockdown power!)

The 7mmstw was pioneered by layne simpson in 1988 or 1989 if I remember correctly.I had my first one built in 1990.It was commercialized several years later by remington.

My old .30-06 FN that has been passed down to me by my father. Between my grandfather, my father, and myself the gun has taken quite a few deer. Hoping to add one more " notch" on it this year!

For the next 2 weeks I will be using my 50 cal Rem ML & after that it is my 7mm Rem Mag that will be called upon.

For the rifle deer season,I' ll be hunting with my Browning A-Bolt Hunter in 7mm-08 with Nikon glass and and Remington Cor-Lokts 140gr.

.243/90gr BT in the stands and a .44mag while still hunting. Neither has
failed me yet.

12 gauge. Rifles (other than muzzle loaders) can' t be used in illinois.

Well, I' ve got to choose between my Rem 870 12 ga, and my Grandfathers old Winchester 30/30 lever action rifle.

.270 Win in a Rem 700 SS, my baby. After a couple of deer jump in the freezer and I get a couple more days at the range with it, I' ll break out The Reaper, my new .300 Win Mag Tikka WH blued-synthetic. Just see how it handles those big ol' Georgia deer. ;)

Depending on where I hunt either:

Marlin336 35 rem corelockt 200 gr

Savage 270 130 gr corelockt

Both will do the job....bullet placement!

If I can get upstate to hunt I' ll use my 300 Wby Mag. If I have to hunt around home, I' ll be using a CVA in-line in 50 cal.

Hopefully I' ll fill my tags during archery season. If not I' ll have to break out the guns. ;)

Around home I' d use my Rem 11-87 12gauge w/copper solid slugs. Away from home I' ll take my .300 WM.
