You where right about that and about minimal meat loss. Big holes, lots of blood, and dropped within sight in some thick woods. It is a great cartridge superhunt!

Nice guns guys! Here's my .300 RUM and a big White-Tail i got at 350 yards moving pretty fast through my field, last week. I bought it 15 years ago and was told the barrel will wear out, it kicks to hard, bla, bla, bla. It gets me a few deer a year from 15 - 579 yards, and it never wounded/lost a deer. It's the best gun i ever had, i love it!

Those .300RUMs are bad on a throat gjersy but usually it's from people shooting at the range a LOT and not letting them cool enough between strings. Shoot it enough to stay proficient with it and not over doing it will allow the barrel much longer life as yours shows. Also a lot of people not smart enough to realize that loading that round overly hot is not only unnecessary but pretty much a waste of powder and that much harder on the throat.

I'd looked at them before I had my .458 built and ended up getting it other than the .450 because of more bullet selections. If they weren't so close performance wise I'd probably get a bushy as well just for giggles

Superhunt Yes i don't shoot/heat my .300 up a lot. I shoot maybe 6 times at the neighbors gun shoot every year to make sure it's sighted in, and it's usually a one shot kill rifle in the field. They say it's a 1000 round barrel, at my rate of shooting it's fine for me. It likes 96 grain of Retumbo with 200 grain accubonds. I love that gun, my wife surprised me with it one anniversary 15 years ago, the 2nd wife is a keeper, she supports my hunting
