Default What type of calls for this part of the season?

I always bring my True Talker deer call with me to every hunt, but at this time of the year what is the best type of call, grunt/bleat...? Thanks

I' d say a doe bleat or soft " contact grunt" . I use the doe bleat/contact grunt all through the season since it' s the only call that has brought me success.

Agree Split,or fawn bleat might work.Even a soft buck grunt, they do grunt to each other.

The key in early season is not to get to aggresive with your calls. Soft bleats or contact grunts will work well early, as the rut gets closer, try getting a little more agressive with your calling and rattling. This has worked well for me in the past.

Bleats and social grunts and not very often as already mentioned. If you have a deer coming your way do not call again, the only deer you should ever call when seen is one heading the wrong way, or if it is going at a good pace and you want it to stop for a shot.
