What is your set up? It is pretty hard to be 12 inches off at 100 yards from your 25 yard zero. Especially if you are 12 inches high at a hundred. With that set up, you could probably hold dead on an elephant out past a thousand yards. It is much more likely to have something loose in your set up. It could even be in your scope.

Just a little friendly thought.

Maybe the scope is mounted over 4" above the barrel.

Sooo, Blur... what IS your setup that you have a 12" drop at 75 yards?

I did not catch that.

Even my .30-30 only has a 2.5" drop at 150 yards from a zero of 100 yards. That gives me a kill zone shot with no hold over from zero to 150 yards.

Maybe you're using a shotty with punkin-ball?

Now I'm curious.

I thought he said he was shooting over the deer.
It's quite a trick to get a bullet to elevate a foot between 25 and 100 yards shooting from a bench.

That is what he stated and I still say there is no way in any kind of a regular setup with a scope on any centerfire rifle for it to be zeroed at 25 yards and then be 12" high at 100 yards. No way no how, unless something is drastically wrong with one or more pieces of the equipment being used.

We can't do any of that in PA. 1st, we have antler restrictions. Either 3 or 4 points per side, depending on WMU. And you have to have a doe tag for that unit to shoot a doe. We have to positively identify what's on a deer's head before we can shoot. And, we can't use someone else's tag.

So, I can't speak to this scenario. But, I just did

+1 If you're 12 high at 100, you're probably not zeroed at 25 any more. Sounds like an equipment malfunction.

Good luck.

Sounds like somethings wrong for sure. Not a centerfire, but my Omega and load/bullet combo is similiar for certain rifles trajectories. I sighted in at 50yards and am 1-1/2" high at 100yards. So..... something's not right. Either the rifle/scope. Or maybe..... ????

With a 50mm scope, on very high mounts, draw a pencil line, and tell me where it will be at 100 yards, if sighted in at 25 yards.

Even with the 50mm scope, I still have plenty of room between the front lens, and the barrel.
