Anything " Yea I passed on a buck I saw about 40 yds away in the brush" NO you didn' t pass, you saw a buck that never presented itself for a shot.
Unfortunately, there are some people who would take that shot...I call that shot a " Hail Mary" ...if they didn' t take it then they " passed on it" cause usually they woulda tried to hit the deer just so they could track it and put a follow up shot on it. But, you know what? it usually ends up with...Well I got a good hit and followed the blood trail...but I lost it...

To me it means that I took a shot and didn' t connect[:' (] Times I' ve seen deer within range with a clear shot and didn' t take it I passed a shot. Times I seen deer and didn' t have a shot due to distance/obstacles, I saw deer

I was hunting one cold morning and a nice six pointer stepped out in front of me, i took two shots and it ran away, shortly an 8 pointer stepped out in the same place, took two more shots and it ran away also. i liked to never get that cap back on the bottle.
