Only hurt him if that sort of thing matters to you.
I judge a buck on how he looks, not what he scores. But everyone makes small talk about scores, so I get curious about it from time to time.

The buck I wanted the worst that lived on our property was only a 6-pointer. Maybe he would score 100". But he was 9 years old and 300lbs. Both ears were ripped up from fighting. He was a stud. I'm sure he could have thrown any Texas 200 incher like a rag doll

First try at posting a picture from photo bucket. Here is an 8 pointer from Southampton Virginia. 160 something
I'll buy that what a great 8. I just roughed it by the pic and came up with low 7o's on one side. Add in that spread and you are there. Beauty and really symetrical.

Once again.... a real beautiful deer. Like I said before it takes a slammer 8 to make 140 and that guy was beyond a monster.

I think it makes it with some to spare. Looking at the picture which I blew up to see it better I come up with:
Assumiing the ears are 6" and extend out 15"

Left
G1=6
G2= 14...might be a little less
G3=12
H1=5...probably more
H2=4...probably more
H3=3
H4=3
Main Beam=25...mains come way back together making a lot of length

Total for left=72
Total for right= 72
Inside spread= 20

Total 164

Since the Right side is so symetrical I gave it a 72 as well

Probably the best 8 I have ever seen from a score and symetry perspective.

The Elisha Hugen buck from Iowa, shot in 1996, scored 185+ gross and 182 3/8. That was an 8-pointer.

There was a non-typical shot in Ohio a year or two ago that had a typical 9-point frame that was well over 200 inches.
