Default Craked Corn for Deer, Yeh, or Ney??

Hey everyone, I am going to try and draw deer into a new certain area that I am going to bowhunt this year and was wondering if putting out " cracked corn" is a good idea? Do deer like " cracked corn" or do they really prefer some other type of food/bait? Let me know soon if you can. Thanks alot!!

If you can, please email me at [email protected] Thanks!!!!![8D]

No need to use cracked corn just feed them a little whole corn, its one of the best.

Shelled corn is all you need, which is what most people think of when they say " whole corn." I only use cracked corn in some situations for quail feeders, though birds eat shelled corn just as well, from my experience.

Yeah whole corn is better because cracked corn can mold and stuff way easier and all animals will eat the whole corn espacially deer. I put some below my treestand outta season one year and I watched a lil spike munch on it with no problems at all.

I always use crack corn for turkeys, because deer dont usually bother with it, I use shelled corn for deer.

I may be mistaken, but I thought that it was illegal to bait/feed deer in Wisconsin due to the CWD problems.

timber: Unfortunatly, the bait and feed portion of the CWD rules package was shot down. Sometime this month a set of rules for the CWD management area is suppose to be in place. Common sence would dictate it include a B & F ban in the problem area at the least.

buckkiller1: You better pay close attention this month. I haven' t looked at the CWD zone map in a while, but you have to be close. I heard theres a new one down towards the southern part of the state also. If you cared about the health of the herd, you wouldn' t bait.
