Morning Hunts/How Early
#1

I would like to get a consensus about how early everyone gets out to your morning spot during the season. And some of the reasons why you go at a certain time most mornings.

I like to be in the blind, or stand at least 45 minutes before daylight just to let the area settle down from me coming in. I don't know how much difference it makes but thats how I've always done it.

In some spots it is necessary for me to get into my stand and hour or more before first light because the first two hours is when all the action is and if i get there at first light I will spook deer. On the flip side some spots I don't get into until first light or later. It all depends on deer movement for me.

I like to be in an hour before first light, but it depends on where I am hunting. Generally the earlier the better. Your activity is less disturbing and noticeable, it gives you a chance to settle in and the woods to relax from your entrance. You are more likely to see a deer the earlier you are, just as you are less likely to the later you are.

I also love getting to my stand 45-60 minutes before daylight,it lets things settle down and I have several Deer come by my stand after I got set up and they either walked by me or even bedded down close by,while others walk in at daylight they tend to scare Deer away from their hunting area and to other Hunters and if I don't see any Deer at day break usually by 8:30 to 12:00 noon I have several Deer passing thru or being pushed to me from other Hunters that won't sit all day and end up jumping Deer on their way back to Camp or their vehicles?

I like to be in my stand at least 30 minutes before daybreak. That means some early mornings, but it means I'm ready in place to ambush the deer that others push around as they come in.
Thankfully I got my buck opening morning this year because I spooked out some deer on the second morning who bedded down by my stand. I never saw a deer on Sunday.
