UPDATE What is this?? UPDATE new pic.

I have seen a black panther here on 2 acounts. 1 while deer hunting around a pond that had tree's scratched up as it was fishing, and the second time was at night it was crossing the road. I can tell you why I never investigated any further. I know and believe my eyes, as to what I saw. and I really have no desire to f with a kitty cat that would like to eat me. Yes there is some discrepancy in these photos, but the head and tail are not dog like may be a short tail but dogs tails don't curl up like a snake.

oh and just to add the black panther is a cougar, they range from Florida to Kentucky, some one should read up on these animals b-4 saying they don't exhist, your wildlife peep's may say not in your area but not neccessarily a true statement. try googleing black panthers in NC and read a little

Saying you saw something in the 70's or there are multiple eyewitness accounts, but no physical evidence, doesn't work for me.
Until then my conclusion is dogs.

I'd like to say this too if I may. There are a lot of people who bring exotic cats into this country legally or illegally. For a breeding pair to either escape captivity or be turned loose (which in the early 70's I heard tell of in the mountains of Arkansas where I lived at the time), is not unheard of. could be where they came from. Any thing is possible.

It is a proven fact that two people can see the same thing and come to completely different conclusions. I think many times someone wants to believe so bad that are more willing to see what they want.

K, to make it easier to tell its 2 dogs
1. click on the thumbnail picture to blow it up
2. Once it pops up, click on that picture.(it should open in a new window)
3. Hold your left ctrl key down and use your scroll wheel on your mouse to enlarge it.
4. See 2 dogs, one that clearly has a collar on.
Unless someone cut a 4-5 inch V right through its spine and its still capable of walking, thats not a black panther. Although Ive heard many elders in my area that you can pretty much take what they say to the bank that have claimed to seen some in our area (foothills of NC)
