And you expect me to believe that you report every cent of income. The "I was paid in cash argument" does not fly. Nor is the "I was paid under $600". Those odd jobs where a guy gives you twenty bucks for helping out, you gotta report it. The money you garner for yard/garage sales,, you gotta report it. The vehicle title that you bought from a friend that has a purchase price of $500 instead of $5000 to avoid the state sales tax. Or the internet/catalog purchases that go unreported on your state income taxes (most all states have that requirement).
Unless you report all of that stuff (and I don't no a single person that does, even folks with high ethics and morals) then you are a tax cheat and a crook that according to your standards can't be trusted.
Personally, I do none of those things, but I am not out issuing statements and passing judgment on people being worthless cheats and crooks.

In my experience, what someone says they will do ( in the presence of others ) and what they WILL do if they think they won't get caught, are usually two different things. Ethics plays a role in every facet of our lives. Example; do you sometimes exceed the speed limit while driving, then when you see the police setting on the side of the road, you slow down until you get by them, then exceed the speed limit again when they are clearly out of sight? I think all of us are unethical in some way or another everyday. Not saying it's right, but that's just the way it is. I won't lie, If I were in that situation, and that buck walking up through the woods was a Booner, he'd be down right now.
I know it would be deliberately breaking the law, poaching and trespassing ( to go get the deer), but he would be hanging on my wall.

Not my experience. One or two tater heads that broke the law in my presense hunting over the years, no longer hunt with me. That simple. Justifying poaching by analogies to breaking the speed limit and tax cheating is as childish as it gets. Let's say I'm down on my luck. I'm basically a nice guy, but, well you leave your keys in your car and running while you pop in the minimart real quick. I steal your car. Maybe I break into your house, steal your belongings. In either case, there's no chance of me getting caught. I mean, I'm really not breaking the law because I didn't get caught, and I really needed the money. I'm not a criminal, because I didn't get caught. Poaching, and trespassing are serious offenses, and can end in bloodshed. Don't try to justify your actions by deflecting the issues to others. Poaching is poaching.
What! Your not breaking the law because you didn't get caught! LMAO. The law is the law period. You steal someones car, you break into someones house, you are now a felon! And these crimes are much worse than shooting a deer across a line fence, period!Breaking the law is breaking the law. No one and I mean NO ONE, on this sight or anywhere can honestly say that they do not knowingly break the law at least once a week, in some form or another. I guarantee at some time or another, most of us are breaking the law while we are hunting, according to the official laws of the Division of Wildlife. Whether it be forgetting to bring a pen to fill out your tag, a watch to know what time you shot your deer or whatever. And once you discover that you don't have one of these items, you wouldn't go home, you would go right on hunting! You are still knowingly breaking the law!

He was using your logic in making a point. The ones of you that say you would take the shot would only take it because you wouldn't be caught. If a game owner or a landowner were present, you would refrain from shooting. Remember as someone said before, True ethics are what you would do if no one is whatching you. Would you still do the right thing. Obviously, some of you wouldn't. It's kind of sad that you guys were raised that way. Too bad. That's why landowners tend to only let their best of friends use their property. Poachers are a huge problem.

I understand. I guarantee that there is no one on here who doesn't knowingly break the law at least once a week. You are a totally ethical person or you are not.No one on here can HONESTLY say they are totally within the law everyday of their lives. No One!Poaching is poaching, this is right and I agree. This particular scenario however, is not the kind of situation that would lead to a landowner not letting anyone hunt. I believe it would be the cutting of fences, 4 wheeler damage, dead deer carcasses left here and there, and basically property damage that he/she could physically see and have to repair that would lead to this. After all, if the land owner didn't know you were there, he/she wouldn't have anything to complain about. You WOULD still be breaking the law, I agree.
