I hunt the national forest in Texas. It cost $35.00 for an annual public land permit. There are some good bucks in the national forest, but the hunting is harder.

We have 2280 acres and 10 members on our east Texas lease, we pay $850. I have 3 small boys (11yrs, 6yrs, and 4 yrs old) so they hunt with me. Only 1 other member has a young boy (11yrs) the others have children over the age of 18 so they are paying members if they hunt. The lease was mature hardwoods until 4yrs ago, now its a pine plantation. Plenty of deer, a few turkey that we don't shoot hoping to increase their numbers. Hogs are just beginning to show up so before long they will be everywhere on the lease.

Our county requires a 13" inside spread, so very few bucks have been taken in last 2 years. definately will help but sure is hard to pass up heavy 10pt cuz you aren't sure if he's 12.5 or 13!!! Try explaining that to a 6 yr old boy with a rifle!!!

600 for about 1000 acres and 16 members. I've been a member for 6 years and my boys (now 13 and 10) have taken numerous deer, turkey, doves, and coyotes there. I enjoy hunting without worrying about the crazy folk on public land.

When I'm deceased my shares in the corporations will go to my estate or whomever I leave them to in my will.

That is a forward thinking approach and in the long run cheaper than leasing. If you don't mind me asking, what is a share worth now?

$925 for 43000 acres with 240 paying members in it. For the most part it is the same set up as Bryants club. Same land owners have the property it is busted up inabout 5 big clubs and a few more small clubs. Foley lands and timber own over a half million acres all toghether. If they cut out the hunting clubs we would have to hunt in the wmas.
