Throw & Grow

Another question... What about protecting the plot from grazing to allow it to grow? Is there anything specific I can do so the plants don't get eaten before they get going?

I used Whitetail Inst.'s Secret Spot last year and it was junk. I followed the directions perfectly and i have alot of experience in farming/horticulture, so it'snot that hard to figure out what is wrong.
You can use3-4 strands ofbarbwire to keep the deer out of the plot why it grows but remember to run it higher too as most deer can jump a standard fence. I have seen ppl wraporange flagging tape around the barbwire too, you don't want to harm the deer or another person.

they make some stuff, kinda like the flagging tape mentioned above, that you rope off and spray a scent on to keep the deer at bay for a couple weeks. deer browsing didn't seem to hurt or slow down the LabLab i planted. it still took off and flourished under normal browsing conditions.

I have to agree with a few of the others and say I'm very disappointed in the Whitetail Imperial Clover. It has been close to a month with hardly any clover showing. I'm gonna go the local ag store route from now on.

I ended up deciding not to plant the Throw & Grow. I went the hard route and sent off a soil sample, herbicided the area, tilled, and I'll be planting Tecomate LabLab Plus soon.
