Default Do real hunters use Scent Lok?

I know this has been discussed several times but I thought I would get a fresh perspective on this subject. I have yet to purchase any Scent Lok products, but I'm not against them by any means. I have tried on a few of their garments and I think they're very comfortable and appear to be quality products. I just wanted to poll everyone here and see if the "Real Hunters" actually use and believe in this stuff. Call me a sceptic, but I tend not to believe everything I hear on TV. I don't have an axe to grind like someone else who use to post a lot about this subject. I'm just a hunter who likes to see what the community's opinion is on certain things.

Please vote and if you use Scent Lok, please list what you own. If you don't use it, please vote and list the reason why.

Thanks!

Yes. Some "real hunters use it some dont. Some "fake (whatever that might be) hunters use it and some don't.

What are you defining as a "real hunter"?

The same rediculous "discussion" takes place at least once a week. How fresh do you need? Some of you have too much time on your hands if you feel the need to stir the samepot every week.

I'm not trying to say that the people we see on TV aren't real hunters, it's just that they seem to be trying to sell merchandise more than hunt. And they generally hunt with outfitters where they have to sift through a dozen great bucks to pick out the one they want. And they could be sitting in a tree stand covered in garbage and they would still shoot a deer.

I just don't like biased recommendations from people who get paid to make them. I figured I would get the scoop from the people who use a certain product because it actually works for them and not because they get it for free to endorse it.

I'm definitely not trying to stir any pot. All I'm asking for is peoples honest opinions and experiences. That's all.

I know a "real" hunter who uses it. I know a "wannabe" hunter who uses it. I'll let others decide how "real" I am. I shot a 9-pointer this year that had no idea I was 40 yards away from him. I don't use scent-lok, but I don't judge people for what they wear. I judge them by how they hunt. Wannabe was walking a creek with me and I showed him a ground blind I built on a bluff with some good shooting lanes. I told him I planned to hunt it a few days later because we had left scent in the area. He said Ileft scentbut he didn't because he was wearing scent-lok. He was pushing branches with his bare hands but somehow his magic underwear kept him from leaving scent.

I only use bits and pieces of it. I have scent lok boots and a facemask and thats it. The rest I just spray myself down. Expensive, yes do I need it, don't think its a necessity will I get any more, not needed right now. Its all personal beliefs and right now I'm not totally convinced so I'll spend my money on other things.

put it this way 'real' hunter or not i tend to try and get as close as i can in any hunt be it archery, muzzle or rifle. i don't use scent lock but thats mostly due to the cost and i haven't really found the use for it. due to popular belief of some on here with enough practise and enough gun you could hunt with a marching band right beside you and still be a real hunter lol just kidding ridgerunner i couldn't resist this one.
