I hang by the neck. I've found it easier to hang them (rope around neck or antlers) especially when I have to do itby myself, and when skinning I tend to get less hair on the meat rolling the hide down the body.I've never believed any of the b.s. about blood pooling etc.

I call my nephew togut, drag and skin them out! He youngest in camp. we hang by the back legs never had problems. When hanging we open up the chest cavity all the way tpo the neck

I have the priviledge of having a taxidermist for a cousin does all my skinning for me. He hangs them from there back legs and goes to it takes him about five min even with me bugging him.

Easiest by back legs. We always open up neck, loosen esophagus and cut, then pull out from inside with lungs because we hang for a few days. Most processors won't take the deer w/ skin on up here.

I hang from the hind legs with a spreader bar with hooks in it I made. It keeps the seperation and works great. I hunt in areas that it is way to hard to drag out so then I field dress them and pack. I prefer field dressing and is the way to go for me.
