Yes there is i have one its a 30-06 remington, semi-automatic
Its actually a very common mistake because springfield isn't know for making a lot of new types of ammo.

have you any idea what yo have just done???? [:-]this could be the most often argued question in deer hunting. my vote is for 7mm-08 and its not on your poll but there it is. really tho you need to give us some info. where are you hunting at? open country or thick?close or long shots? will you be using it for anything other than whitetails? we gotta have info to give you any kind of idea

I would have to go with 30-06.

An all-around caliberand many loads to choose from.

Yup, unlike the rest of them, Springfield got it right the first time.

I like my 7mm rem mag it is a little overkill to say the least but tracking deer is not done as much or hardly at all with this rifle.

+1 for 7 Mag or 300 Win (which I voted for) Hit 'em with that much gun, they just go down, and stay that way. Lot to be said for never having to trail a wounded animal. The sole caveat being that you take the time and practice to get good with such a large rifle. All that horsepower does no good in the wrong place.

6.5x55mm Swede. It is mild recoiling and hard hitting.
