Wisconsin Rut Progress
Hoping to get a report as to where we are at around the state. Some scrapes and ticky tack rubs are popping up in Pierce county, but the boys still seem to be more interested in acorns than the ladies. Hope to see increased activity in the coming week.

According to the articles and graphs on T.R.Michels "Peak Whitetail Rut Dates"page at www.trmichels.com/RutDates.htm the scraping phase, which isoften when bucks aresemi-predictable during daylight hours, should start about now. There are breeding dates and graphs of breeding seasons, for all states on there.
It is a great time to pattern and huntbucks along rub lines and near scrapes in wooded areas.

I went shining last nite and didn't see any rutting activity in that particular area of Chippewa county. I seen (3) 3.5 year old bucks standing together like they were having a meeting.
I have my I40 set up on a scrape on the back side ofmy corn field and I have been getting 1-2 small bucks coming into it every nite. I have been freshening it with buck scent daily. I'll start putting doe scent in it when I start getting daytime pictures, then I'll start hunting it.

One of our guys was out last night on the farm in Pierce country. Saw 3 bucks and 4 does. Bucks ran the does around pretty good. We built a food plot in the middle of a river bottom and set up an Ameristep ground blind. One of the small bucks came with in 15ft of the blind. He's going back tonight. I'll give another report tomorrow.
