will the rut kick in before gun season comes in? gun season comes in nov 8-17th. just wondering when the rut should kick in?

There is a goo d explanaation of what activites the rut involves, and when breeding starts and ends, on T.R. MIchels website at www.trmichels.com/RutDates.htm.

The rut would have started when the bucks started rubbing in August or September, and breeding probably started by at least the middle of October.

So which is it August or September? there are 31 un-accounted days there. Maybe in the North Pole does a deer rubbing a tree in Aug. OR Sept.mean the rut is kicking in, but not in the Midwest or South.

That sounds about perfect for your hunt..year in and year out the rut is usually around the same time, which in my experience in the woods here in Illinois is from Nov. 5th-25th...take in account that's the chase faze and peak faze. I am not claming to be a expert, but just what I have seen and friends and family as well. Good Luck.
