Stealthy,

You only get half of a &quot;Hubba Hubba&quot;...since it was only a face pic...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

PABowhunter is a restriction on the PSI for the compressor? I heard that the ladies in Va. were trying to get spike heels declared a legal weapon for deer.

Another good weapon would be a throwing axe! or a picture of my mother in law!

I think the picture of your mother-in-law would be legal but I am not sure about that axe.....<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

smokepoledoug - Sadly, the season is permanently closed on them in my area.

PABowhntr - My apologies for the portrait only. I will attempt to recitify the error ...

As for the original topic - I'd do a spear hunt with hog maybe, but thats tops. Anybody know the name Sasha Simiel ? Spear hunted Jaguar in SA (Brazil I think) and killed like 60 of them and another 60 or something like that with a bow. Amazing story....

I have been thinking about giving it a try next year as an excuse for early season scouting. The regs are rather vauge on it however. As stated minumum 2 inch broadhead and handthrown. I am not sure if this rules out an atlatl or not since it is hand thrown but using the atlatl as extra leverage. I think the handthrown is to prevent some nut from trying to use a trebuchet(picture a big crossbow with a spear on it).

I have not been exposed to spear hunting. In college we use to use our javilins to hunt rabbit and squirl. very few kills. It was more of a game than hunt. I do see lots of people around these parts hunt hogs with knives (some times with dogs and some times with out). It makes you wounder where the line will finally be drawn. Will they start running deer over clifts ?

Bowhunting alone is hard enough. I also think that it would be very difficult to gaurantee a clean, humane kill.
