I had the same thing happen .
The deer seem to like laying in the taller grass especialy in wet ares .
Its a lot cooler and they can smell or hear any danger that lerks .
There around in the same general area ,

I had the same thing happen a couple of years ago when I mowed my area, and they were leery about the change. I gave it a few days, and kept the feeder going and within a week , things had gone back to normal and the deer came back. Just give them some time to get used to it and feel safe again....
No worries.... But these days I make sure I do my cutting well before the season starts. It gives them plenty of time to get used to it.
