Default Oh Crap! Gotta Love Iowa....

Got 8" of rain last night and flooding everywhere around my 50+ acres. My seven acre pond has water going over the emergency spillway and the water is still within 1 foot of going over the dam. Below the dam was an area the deer were using for bedding but probably not now unless they like floating around. What a screwed up 10 months it has been here. I might have to bow hunt deer this year with one of those fishing rigs. lol

I've complained now and feel better (yeah right). Gotta get back to pumping water out of the basement.

Bummer for sure. I've been thru the flooding routine... what a PIA. We had "flood mud" in the house for years after. Don't worry about the deer. They are survivors...very adaptable. I bet they will be fine come season. Good luck and hopefully, you won't have any more issues.

lol, ya, i had 3 food plots planted close to a river. it flooded high enough to kill my plot and has only did that one other time in the last 50+ years. it destroyed a trail cam but the sd card survived. it left some funny pictures, deer going in every night and day till 2 hours after the last buck left you see 3 inches of water standing over the plot, then 2 more hours pass and the water is holding at the bottom of the feeder for a couple of days, and finally thecamera went under water.
