I just sent my paperwork and check into Mont. Dept of Game + Fish. I am going on a guided mule deer hunt next fall in central Montana. The outfitter sponsered tags are really expensive, but they are garunteed. It makes it alot easier to plan a trip.

I shot a nice 3x3 a couple years ago in the South Dakota Black Hills. My In-laws live in the Hills and I shot him about 400 yards from their house. It was pretty easy getting him out of the woods with the Bobcat

My name has been in the mulie draw for the past 4 years, still no tag. We have some big bruisers up here in Sasaktchewan. It is not uncommon for a mature buck to weigh 300 lbs. on the hoof. There is a rumour going around up here that the next Boone and Crockett record typical is walking around this winter. There is a guy up here that films a lot of hunts that says he will go in the 230' s as a typical. It is a rumour, but I think this guy know his deer. Have you heard about that one Skeeter???

Saskbucks, I have heard a few rumors about the next ones. I usually take them with a large pail of salt. By chance, that wouldn' t be Bentley? I' ve heard he' s being talking about a big typical. If so, I bet dollars to nuts its in the Harris Game Preserve nice and safe. I have my eye on a couple non-typicals, I have yet to take a non-typical mulie and that most definately will be my goal if I get drawn this fall. I sure wouldn' t pass up a 200 typical though, I have seen lots of 170-185 typicals, but very few that would make book.

Saskbucks 4 years no tag, is this your first try? What zone? Are you putting a back up zone in? I usually have a 4-5 year wait between my draw year for trophy mules. You should get it this year. Thank god for the over the counter archery mulie tag.

[8D]Hunted in Southern Utah during the Muzzleloader season this past year and saw plenty of nice muleys. Couldn' t get any of the big ones in close enough to shoot. The last day of a 5 day hunt finally got one next to the camp. Not a large one but tasted real good. Normally hunt my home state of Nevada. Not drawn this year.

There are tons of Mule deer up here in Montana. They are really making a comeback. I got really lucky this year. I missed on my first shot and the dang thing just stood there. Didn' t move a muscle. Maybe he froze from the fear i put into him. I got a second shot off and got him.
