are there any mule deer hunters out there
i was just curious this board seems to cater to whitetails. if there are any muledeer hunters out there were are you from and how was your hunt this year.ill get this started.
i didnt have a lot of time to hunt this year but i did see a ton of bucks!!! i shot a 23" 4x4 on third day it was the 35th buck i had seen.on day six my little brother shot the 60th buck hed seen and it was a 27" 3x4 granted many of the bucks were probably counted more than once.

I hunt Mule deer in Colorado every year during the opening week of archery.
2001 I shot an 18" wide 3x3.
And last year I got a 3 x 4 that wasn' t quite as wide.
I might have to hold out a little longer this year!!

Ut,
I hunt mule deer mainly in Idaho and have hunting in Wyoming a few times.
I usually hold out for a decent buck or end up not taking one.
Deer hunting in Idaho is getting good again.
Spent most of my vacation last year hunting elk and antelope so only deer hunted a few days. I took a nice 6 point elk in Idaho and a 15" antelope in Utah.
Passed an a few smaller bucks, was tempted on a 25" 3 point but he was pretty spindly so I passed. He will be a better buck this year.
Saw a lot of deer up in the high country 10,000 feet. The herds are definitely coming back.

I hunt mulies in Saskatchewan, Canada, we only get drawn once every 4-5 years to hunt with ML/Rifle for trophy animals. 03 will be my fifth year since last time...so I figure I' ll get drawn. We also have an archery only over the counter tag that I usually buy, but last year didn' t due to time restrictions. I did get drawn for Mulie doe' s and bagged a nice doe on my first evening out last fall with the ML, which makes for some great meat for the table. We don' t have the numbers like other areas but grow some pretty nice trophy animals up here.
I hope my ship comes in with a draw tag this year. I know where some real brutes are and can' t wait to be able to chase them with the ML. Bow hunting this area is very tough for the big ones, but if I can get a bit more range should manage to land one for the wall. (X' d fingers)

ut deer hntr, welcome to the board!
I don`t think this board caters to WT hunters, it just so happens that WT hunters outnumber mulie hunters by a longshot.
I have taken 3 mule bucks myself. 2 with a bow, 1 with a gun. Nothing huge, but they sure are fun to hunt. I have yet to try Utah, I shot mine in Idaho, Wyomig, and Colorado.
