is there anywhere in Iowa where anonresidentcould draw a deer archery tag without any preference points? I would like to hunt public land and have a decent chance at a nicebuck. thanks

You are not going to draw an archery tag without a preference point. Most zones it will take at least two points. My advice is to start buying points this year, and start researching places to hunt.
