devastating 20 guage slugs!
I am an avid 20 guage hunter. Im using standard 3/4oz rifled slugs through a smooth bore with a 26" barrel. Any suggestions as to what would be the absolut very best slug for my setup? I hunt deer and wild hog....mainly hogs. Thanks!

RE: devastating 20 guage slugs!
I just discovered the BuckHammer slugs by Remington this year. Shoot one right after your regular 20 ga slugs and you will feel the difference. I dropped a 9pt 200lb buck at 20 yards with one shot. The slug broke a rib going in, punctured both lungs, broke another rib on the other side, and shattered the scapula.
I doubt I'll ever shoot another type of slug again! Give 'em a shot!
Here's a pic of the entrance wound it's the one on the right. The 2nd hole was the finishing shot.

If your going to hunt with a smooth bore you need a slug made for a smooth bore. Personaly I use a fully rifled barrel. I'm comfortable out to 150 yards with a Sabot slug. Shot my buck this year at 80 yards. Dropped in his tracks. Broke his back. Shot a little high but he went nowhere.
I haven't had to much experience with smoothbore so I can't help there.
