Homemade tree stands is all I use. There isn't a tree stand on the market thats as sturdy as the ones I make. Thats the big reason why I started making my own in the 1st place. Mine are all metal hang on's with a rubber coated chain going around the tree. I like them allot and there not to spendy to make either, 35.00 to 40.00 dollars per stand. I've made well over 25 of these things and still have the 1st one I made, just made a few improvements along the way.

If I find a tree that is going to be perfect year after year. I will build a wooden stand in place. I make it easy to get into and out of. I check them every year for wear and tear And NOISE. I had a squeeky stand last year and it was horrible, had to come back and put some screws in it to quiet it up.

I really messed some of my dad's trees up makining home made stands when I was a kid. There wer'nt a lot of commercial stands available at the time, heck my first bow was a Bear Whitetail Hunter. I would bye a lock on and a stick ladder now before I'd build tree house out of wood or weld up some noisy metal stand that weighs ??lbs.
