was hunting muz season in western Md in late dec. & came across a deer dead less than a day perhaps. it looked as though a coyote had taken a few bites out of the paunch and some of the contents were observed ten yards away. no other signs of bullet entry. ....now to the point of ?, this deer had silver dollar sized bases about 3" long and were black as though he was in velvet. have never seen anything like it(this time of year)! can anyone explain ? this area hasa pretty squewed doe to buck ratio ...harvested 4 in this area this past season 3doe & 1 buck and all seemed to be healthy. last 2 i donated to the fhfh.org
