Nothing personal dude,it's just that this issue of a 223 killing or not killing a deer is like the perrody of this sight.

Of course they are awesome deer killin machines. My brother shot a monster buck with one at 200 yards and dropped stone cold.

Man, some of you make me laugh…

First check if it is legal.

If so, it’ll be fine. As always, shot placement plays a key role.

From what I can see (in shoot better II) with a 69 grain Boattail HP match you’ve got 1379 foot lbs of energy at the muzzle. 1252 at 50 yards, 1134 at 100 yards1026 at 150 yards and 926 out to 200 yards.

That is plenty of energy to kill a deer. Don’t think so? Go check out the energy of a bow. It is all about how the energy is transferred.

I won’t say names, but don’t listen to the post about armor piercing! That projectile won’t expand in the animal at all, so it won’t leave any energy behind. The animal could go really, really far before dying if at all. Not ethical. Deer aren’t made of “armor”.

Good luck,

KP
