Don't laugh,
A few Saturdays ago I slept in with the wife instead of getting up to hunt, got up way after sun up, grabbed the Muzzle loader, walked out the side door, dropped a deer, came in made coffee, told her to get up and she helped Me drag the deer up the ravine to the house.
She then said " now that I know You can do that, I guess You dont have to go hunting all day with your freinds anymore"
Ack!!

like everyone else i have to say any day i can be out is a good day to me.
I'm not a big fan of sitting in the woods while it's raining in the fall. I don't see the point in getting sick then missing more time out there.
but if i can pick the perfect day.
clear skys with a low in the 20's and highs in the mid 40's with 10 mile an hour winds, the deer never seem to notice me up in the tree when it's like that.

The perfect morning starts out with a frost so hard everything is white...After a crunchy walk to the stand before light I let things calm down for a few minutes then start grunting on a tube for a few minutes to sound like a buck chasing a doethen finish it off with a couple of snort/wheezes in two directions to sound like 2 bucks just confronted eachother...Bang the antlers together for the beginning of a minute long rattling sequence and listen to it echo through the woods...Pick up therifle and get ready...Love those mornings!!!!
