Here in Southern Maryland it's shotgun season, but I decided to use my blackpowder. Had some rain in the morning, it quit raining about 9:00am and highs in the low 40's. Had'nt seen any deer for most of the day. About 1:20pm I saw 2-does to my left about 40-yards away. There was an oak tree about 10-feet to my left so I had to lean a bit to get a decent shot on the doe. Put the cross-hairs right behind her shoulder and pulled the trigger and then watched both does run off. "WHAT THA F*$#!!!!!" Pulled my gun up again to see if something was wrong with my scope and saw that the bullet passed through 2-branches about 1/4" thick. Oh well, muzzleloader season comes back in next Saturday and I'll try again.
