Nothing in the freezer yet, have been out a lot just not getting the sightings. In 2 weeks(shotgun hunt) only saw 4 deer and never fired a shot.Muzzy season opens on monday and that is what I really look forward to.
Good luck on the rest of your season.

Nothing yet, have only seen 4 shooter bucks. Pike County IN was hit hard by the sickness, I heard over 25% down, bloodcreek can verify this. Probably will take a doe late muzzleloader if I have to. Going again Friday and Saturday, this is our last weekend of gun season. Where we hunt it was noting to see 20-30 deer a day, 9 is the most we have seen in 1 day this year. But one of us killed a hog, I seen it the day before he killed it but it was about 125 yards away(archery season)big 10 pointer close to 160". He has not got it scored yet.

Well, I shot a spike on opening morning thinking it was a doe.
kicked it up tracking it one time and then backed out for a few hours. came back and managed to kick it up agian.
I figured I must have gut shot it so I backed out for even longer.
came back and found nothing.
and then the other day (a week and a half later I might add) I found what was left of it in a thicket on the bank of a creek that swore I checked twice.
having some really bad luck seeing anything latly too.

I shot a spike late on opening day of gun season that I lost, though I did find a good portion of a rib and some other bone fragments. Chest high weeds everywhere, no blood trail, and four of us looked for a good while over two days. Would have been a management deer and wouldn't have cost me one of my tags because of the ranch I was hunting. Saw lots of good deer and one monster at first light that morning.
All of that was on a buddy's place I typically get to hunt a good bit. Unfortunately, timing hasn't worked out to where I've been able to get back down there so far this year and the only chance left this season may be a day or two between Christmas and New Years or possibly the first weekend in January.
On my place, I've yet to see a buck I'd shoot during daylight hours. Have two that I'm now considering based on my game cameras. I'll take 3 does before the end of the season, but will probably wait until late in the year.
We're blessed with a very long season here in Texas. Just in my part of the state, I can hunt for over 3 months with over 2 months of that being rifle season.
