Default need advice...

Well it was opening weekend in NY, and for me it was pretty low key. I had to work sat and sun morning but i went out for the night hunt. I have a great spot, with rubs and scrapes, but where are the bucks?!? They are in the damn thick stuff. Right before dark i can hear them running around in it, but how can i get them to come out before it gets too dark? I tried grunting and that seems to have no effect. Any suggestions?

since you can't get them out of the thick stuff, get them before they get in there.the next time you are out, try to determinewhere they go in at and maybe you can get a shot at them before they enter.

Or get a climbing treestand and get in there before them and get set up above them. They will be running around underneath you.

Is this schedule permanent? Will you be able to hunt mornings at all? If you can you have to intercept them before they get in there. If not figure out how they leave and intercept them then.

If those aren't options can you try a drive? Get a few guys together and push them out. Evenif you don't get one the first time, you will learn their escape routes. Give it a couple days and try it again, adjusting your standers where the deer are exiting.

Watch the wind, always! You cab fool their eyes and their ears, but you can't Bu11$h!t their nose!

Well since opening weekend, the usual pounding the land gets has dropped off considerably. Instead of 100 guys hunting there, there is about 3 committed hunters left. I got a day off from work so i had a chance to get in there in the morning, and it was a whole different story. I saw 5 different bucks. There was one that was worth taking down, but i know there is bigger out there. this coming weekend i have a couple days off so i hope i have the same outcome. Thanks to everyone who left some advice, i'd have to say rattling worked the best. Good luck fellas!
